Introduction to the DeskProto CAM software

Part one: using the wizards

DeskProto offers Free CAM software: software to calculate the toolpaths for a CNC milling machine. In addition to this Free edition three paid editions are available as well, offering more functionality.
In DeskProto you can choose between two user interfaces:

• the wizards offer a simplified interface, great for novice users
• the dialog-based interface offers more features, to fine-tune the resulting toolpaths

This first introduction video starts by explaining the concepts of CAD, CAM and CNC, and shows the basic workflow for CNC machining. Next the Free edition of the DeskProto software is started and each of the three basic wizards is demonstrated: Vector machining, Geometry machining and Bitmap machining. You will see how easy it can be to calculate NC toolpaths.

The dialog-based user-interface is shown in Part 2 of the introduction video.
And before you can use it you need to Download and install DeskProto.
